  • AVI50516 Diploma of Aviation (Flight Instructor)

    Your Flight Instructor Course is delivered with both theory and practical elements and is completed via a simulated work environment. The AV150516 Diploma of Aviation course utilizes a blended delivery of training including, one on one training in the aircraft, Classroom Theory, Individual Briefings, Supervised Study and Practice Exams.

    Training and Assessment will take place in FAA training rooms with a qualified Trainer monitoring your progress.

    Entry Requirements

    The entry requirements for participants in the AVI50516 Diploma of Aviation (Flight Instructor) are listed below:

    • Hold AVI50215 Diploma of Aviation (Commercial Pilot Licence – Aeroplane) or equivalent
    • Current CASA Commercial Pilots Licence
    • at least 200 hours’ flight time as a pilot
    • at least 100 hours’ flight time as pilot in command

    Other requirements

    Students are required to obtain a Class 1 medical assessment provided by an accredited aviation medical examiner at the commencement of the course.

    Training will comprise of both Ground Theory and Practical Flight Training

    Qualification Structure

    Aspects of the course require determination of underpinning knowledge through written assessments, observation of in-flight skills and the practical demonstration of appropriate flying skills. The qualification consists of 10 core units plus 6 elective units and competency must be demonstrated in all 16 for the issue of a qualification.
